PGY-2/ EMR-1

During the PGY-2 year the resident begins to tailor his/her training towards the practice of Emergency Medicine. This year will entail 7 months of Emergency Medicine at both the Garden City Emergency Department as well as Providence Hospital Main Emergency Department in Southfield. The resident will also gain exposure to Pediatric Emergency medicine (Providence Hospital Novi), Neurology, Ophthalmology (Kresge Eye Institute), ENT, Cardiology, and orthopedic trauma (University Medical Center – Las Vegas). Each off service rotation gears their training of the EM resident to the practice of managing specialty specific emergencies. As a result of this focus, the resident will gradually gain confidence and efficiency while in the department.
