PGY-4/ EMR-3 Our EMR-3 year represents the polishing stage. The resident has 3 months of elective time to further hone their skills in the areas of their choice and continue to broaden their horizons. Continuing the emphasis on managing the emergent patient, each resident completes rotations in Toxicology and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Detroit Receiving Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Michigan. While in the Emergency Department, our senior residents enjoy expanded autonomy while functioning as junior attendings. This entails serving as the staffing physician for rotating interns and medical students. By the end of the EMR-3 year we produce a confident graduate ready for practice and Board Eligibility.
