As a student, you will have the same responsibility as a first year resident. You will have your own patients and you will present to directly to the attending. Procedures are done by you with supervision of attending or senior resident. By the end of rotation you will be proficient in procedures such as laceration repair, lumbar puncture and endotracheal intubation. Students are also encouraged to start their own peripheral IV. Students will also participate in weekly conference, readings from Tintinalli, Rosen’s and Robert’s and Hedges, monthly COGMET, and journal club. At the end of rotation, there will be a written exam to be completed by the student. |
