IEP Charities

Equity. Access. Impact.

BECAUSE HEALTH & WELL-BEING ARE THE CORNERSTONES OF THRIVING COMMUNITIES

At IEP Charities, we believe that health is the foundation of every thriving community.  As emergency physicians, we see firsthand how the emergency department plays a vital role in community health—it's the community safety net for health care—the only place where anyone can receive care, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

Through our clinical work, we’ve provided over $75 million in uncompensated care to individuals and families in need. This perspective drives our charitable mission to advance equity, access, and impact beyond the walls of the hospital.

Our mission is to support initiatives that improve access to healthcare, promote health education and awareness, and empower individuals to lead healthier lives.

Hospital Support & Innovation

We invest in advanced technologies, emergency department renovations and expansions, simulation labs for clinical training, and centers of excellence that train the next generation of physicians to elevate care for all in the hospital setting.

Sports, Parks & Recreation

We proudly support sports and parks and recreational programs that help children, families and people of all ages lead more connected, healthier lives.

Mental Health and Well-being

We are committed to supporting programs that provide mental health education, reduce stigma, and offer vital resources to those in need.

The Adolescent Respite Room: Supporting Youth in Crisis

Emergency departments are increasingly caring for adolescents in mental health crisis, yet a shortage of behavioral health beds often forces youth to wait—sometimes for days—for placement.

Most importantly, it honors the dignity of patients and families facing one of the most vulnerable moments in their lives—bringing compassion and humanity to a time often marked by uncertainty and fear.

To help address this, IEP provided funding for the Adolescent Respite Room at the Henry Ford Jackson Jackson emergency department. This calming, private space provides essential comforts for youth and families while they await transfer, including a shower, space for eating with families, quiet activities like reading or gaming, and a safe place to rest.

 Bringing Care into the Community

We believe that healthcare starts well before an emergency. That’s why we actively participate in community health fairs and wellness events across the region, bringing vital health education and preventive services directly to the public. Through free blood pressure checks, health screenings, flu shot clinics, heart health fairs, and other interactive events, our team helps individuals better understand their health and take proactive steps toward wellness.

A Snapshot of Our Giving

Since 2019, IEP Charities has provided $6 million in funding toward it’s commitment to build stronger communities through empowering health and wellness for all.

We have partnered with and supported a wide range of programs and organizations that provided services in or focus on our core areas of giving.
